President William Ruto on saturday 22nd April officially commissioned the Kiirua Buuri Irrigation Development Project in Meru County, Buuri Constituency.
The project covers Kibirichia-Ntumburi, Ruiri & Kiirua-Naari wards and was implemented by the Government of Kenya through the National Irrigation Authority.
The project costed a total of Kshs. 284,237,904.50 and has put an area of 2,000 acres under Irrigation serving approximately 3,700 farmers.
The project works entailed, Intake Works, Sedimentation basin and 178 kilometers of Water conveyance pipeline.
