State Department for Public Works Principal Secretary Mr. Joel Arumonyang on Saturday the 15th of April 2023 led the National Construction Authority (NCA) Board of Directors and Senior Management in a consultative engagement with the Senate Committee on Delegated Legislation.
The consultative engagement was with a view of considering The National Building Regulations 2023 (Building Code).
During the session, the committee led by Chairperson, Hon. Sen. Mwenda Gataya was briefed on, and interrogated, the Building Code and steps taken in its development.
The Senate Select Committee on Delegated Legislation is established under Standing Order 195 (1) of the Senate Standing Orders and is mandated to scrutinize statutory instruments laid before the senate. Also present were officials from the Ministry of Lands, Public works, Housing and Urban Development, and the Building Code Committee.
