Solar Pumps To power Boreholes in Marigat SubCounty

Marigat Subcounty is hosting a week-long meeting bringing together Kenyans and leaders from 6 counties bordering Kerio Valley; Baringo County, West Pokot County, Turkana County, Laikipia County, Elgeyo Marakwet County, and Samburu County. The meeting is aimed at complementing National and County Government efforts in providing services to the people of Marigat, in a project dubbed “Faith in Action Week”, that combines interdenominational prayers and development projects.

MaMa Doing Good, in conjunction with leaders, county governments, and elected leaders, has come together to combine development efforts and prayer in Marigat Sub County. This is the first of a series of six “Faith in Action Week “events that will be held in each of the six counties.

Speaking at the function, The Faith The development projects that will be launched this week include; a community borehole at Marigat Primary School that will be piped to the local schools and public facilities, to a maximum of 2,000 metres, a food distribution program. Further solar pumps are being installed to power the boreholes sustainably. The Marigat Primary School Playground is also being developed as a community stadium and has been fitted with street lights and two modern washrooms.

The “Faith in Action” week will culminate in a regional interdenominational prayer meeting on Saturday, May 13, 2023. Guests expected on Saturday include Her Excellency the First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto, Prof. Kithure Kindiki, Cabinet Secretary, Interior and Administration of the National Government, Governors from the 6 counties, elected members of parliament, senators and MCAs, and community leaders.
